En el encuentro, las autoridades antes descritas, fueron atendidos por el titular de la Federación de Pescadores de Lázaro Cárdenas, quien dijo que la funcionalidad total de la lonja pesquera depende de contar con el abasto suficiente de materia prima y con ello los permisos para la pesca de mediana altura y con ello activar la fileteadora que podría genera importantes remuneraciones para el sector.
Durante el encuentro se dio la propuesta por parte del gobierno de la presidenta municipal, de desarrollar alguna actividad turística aprovechando así el potencial que tiene este espacio, como ejemplo dijo, la realización de recorridos turísticos donde los visitantes puedan recorre en lancha el interior del recinto portuario, ello como una opción tentativa una ves que se active al 100% el lugar.
Luis Manuel Reyes Arreguin, del departamento de Pesca municipal, dijo que se dio el compromiso de las autoridades hay presentes para agilizar los tramites de los permisos y requerimientos necesarios para activarse en su totalidad pues es una zona que ya fue construida y que se debe aprovechar el potencial por el que fue creada.
Recordó que por el momento al interior de la lonja es operada de una zona productora de hielo, con la participación de propios pescadores quienes generan empleos y un ingreso económico, sin embargo ya se trabaja en las gestiones necesarias, para obtener los permisos de pesca, gestión que va acompañada del hundimiento de arrecifes que pudiera poblar algunos bancos para abastecimiento de la misma.
