Morelia, Michoacán. Al borde de la muerte, millones de plántulas de pinos árboles de reforestación de la temporada 2020 en el estado de Michoacán por condiciones de sequía y cambio climático. Hasta 18 millones de plantas requieren de acciones de emergencia para poder sobrevivir a la que es considerada una de las temporadas de estiaje más complejas dela historia reciente a nivel nacional.
El Consejo Consultivo de Cambio Climático de Michoacán, encabezado por la doctora Patricia Alarcón, presentó esta semana el análisis de la situación, así como las recomendaciones a las instancias y autoridades ambientales del estado para evitar la pérdida de las largas y extenuantes jornadas de reforestación de años pasados.
En voz del doctor Cuauhtémoc Sáenz, integrante del Consejo e investigador de la Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo, explicó que los datos que arrojaron los estudios sobre las plantas analizadas en distintas regiones del estado, es de alto estrés, debido a la falta de lluvias desde hace ya más de 5 meses.
A diferencia de otros años, la temporada de lluvias se cortó de tajo durante el mes de octubre del 2020, lo que no permitió el desarrollo y adaptación de las plántulas a los suelos en los que fueron destinadas. Al panorama anterior se suma la sinergia desarrollada por los frentes fríos que impactaron durante enero y febrero.
