¿Por qué es tan peligroso?
Candida auris suele ser resistente a los fármacos antimicóticos que se usan para tratar este tipo de infecciones. Los CDC dicen que más del 90 por ciento de las infecciones por Candida auris son resistentes a por lo menos uno de esos medicamentos, mientras que el 30 por ciento son resistentes a dos o más de los principales antimicóticos.
Una vez que está presente el germen, es difícil erradicarlo de la instalación infectada, explicó The New York Times.
